Knights of Dirleton
This is one of the sets of kitchens in Dirleton Castle. There seem to be lots of kitchens there, with associated bread ovens and breweries, and even a seventies style serving hatch.
It's a pretty cool castle to take kids to as the walls are still pretty high and there are lots of 'secret' staircases to never-before-discovered rooms (save for the explanatory plaques on the wall, of course). It's more 'done' than many of the other castles around here, with immaculate gardens and even a jazz festival.
So after this morning's downpour we kitted the kids out in their best knight outfits and took them here for some sword fights, while Mr MT and I discussed what the heck to do with our lives. (I think travelling the world and never working again came pretty high on the wishlist - anyone with us?)
