Busy icing cakes at 7.30 this morning, birthday round these parts after all, it needed to be done. Presents and cards not opened yet for the lady of the house, just waiting for my eldest to return from school for the celebrations to well and truly commence.

Off to see an extremely well-reviewed play later, hoping for big things. If it disappoints, there's always Arab Strap's Aidan Moffat to 'cheer' us up at the book festival afterwards. Hmm, maybe not.

Music, well, it's all been about that marvellous Beirut album again. Yesterday we had track 1, today we'll go for track 2.
