Motor boat on canal

During our many walks along the canal we rarely see any boats. Today our walk was at lunchtime and we managed to see two boats going through lock l8. It was fascinating to watch and we stood for sometime talking to the men who operate the locks. In September there is a canal festival with the promise of eighty boats passing through. Have made a note on the calendar!

This afternoon we took Euan for a long walk and met a couple from my hometown who were through visiting their daughter. It certainly is a small world.
