Imagine.

It's pretty obvious by now that I have a particular interest in political current affairs. I have my specialist areas of interest and one of them is international relations. That said then, today I as I watched the news I was particularly struck by the political crescendo that is continuing to build through the Arab Spring, with all attention magnifying Libya. Hours later on today, I was also particularly struck by the infamous song 'Imagine' by John Lennon played at random through my radio. This is a song which I have found particularly warming and aspiring, and in the words of John Lennon himself, "I'm not the only one", who feels this way. However, whichever worldly context one wishes the words of this song to be true, they are not and are likely never to be.

This photograph then, whilst it could have been taken anywhere, it was in fact taken at the UN Head Quarters some time ago. It was a sign that also particularly struck me. It represents three words which deeply warm my heart - 'United. Nations. Peace.' Yet, these three words together, in that order, sadly seem to be three words and their meaning that we can but only imagine. We can only "imagine all the people living life in peace".
