Sous le pont Mirabeau coule la Seine
This bridge is very close to our apartment and I crossed it 4 times today. Ch encouraged me to take this picture because she likes the statues.
It was a day to break down stereotypes of Parisians. Our meeting at the bank was actually pleasant - the banker was all interested in Canada and asked lots of questions about banking practices there... so much so that he kept us in his office for TWO full hours, mostly chatting. We thought we'd never get out of there but he did open our account and will give us a our coveted carte bleue, so we count it as successful.
Second stereotype broken was that a kind neighbour in our building invited us over for apéro. That's never happened to us before in Paris, Toronto or anywhere. She gave us helpful tips about the neighbourhood and we talked about her travels through Canada. She also gave us the dirt on all the other tenants in the building... maybe more than we needed to know.
