Roses, roses, more roses....

Did I tell you how much I like roses? This one is called Warmest Welcome - such a vibrant bloom! Contrasting so well with the dark green leaves and the dark blue engineering bricks of our house. It was a gift from a lovely friend of ours.

Also today the garden was noisy with thousands of birds! - ok, I may be exaggerating just a bit, but definitely hundreds. Mostly swallows, some of which had been bred in our stables. It seemed to me that every branch of the cherry tree outside the stables had a swallow on it - only 4 nests in the stables, so their other mates must have dropped by for a party.
