Friendship for life

The day started with fair weather and ma accepted the offer of a ride along waters and meadows to see something else than hometown and the interior of her house. We enjoyed the wide views and a small walk in the wind. On our way back we visited her friend who lives some 30 kms further on. Both ladies are of age now (84 + 92) and they stalled their bikes a few years ago, so they don't call on one another anymore by bike. And by now travels by public transport outside their hometowns have become too hazardous for them too , so they meet more often on the phone than face to face. But today brought a small feast as they met and enjoyed their friendship of 60 years with a face to face talk over a cup of tea. A great day all in all.
