Get Back to Me

Cherhill Horse and Harvest.

On the way home I broke the journey by stopping just outside Calne on the A4, to take a walk to the Cherhill White Horse.

The field of wheat in the foreground was being harvested, and behind me was a hive of industry with a combine, tractors and trailers waiting to cart the wheat grain away.

In the adjacent field, the straw was being baled and stacked. A real family effort with mums and children bringing a picnic out to the workers.

Across the road in another field was a crop circle of quite simple design - obviously made by a comparatively small UFO.

The Cherhill White Horse is about 40 metres long and 43 metres tall, and is not prehistoric, having been cut in 1780.
It has recently been restored.

It is described as an elongated horse, however if you look at the legs, they are incorrect, anatomically and I wonder if the pasterns and hooves were added it would look more in proportion!

It's my mum's birthday today. I got back in time to visit her in the evening. She has had a great day.
