Last day in Revel
We're all set to leave this afternoon for Bordeaux - two cars packed and ready, but we decide to have lunch first, so L and I take the opportunity to have one last walk around town to work up an appetite. This is the tower on the church. I think it has a lot of Spanish influences in it's architecture which is not surprising I suppose, being not that far from the border! Yes the blue really was that deep, without any filters or post-processing.
In the end, we left by ourselves, as C still had to pick up V from Castres. It takes about 3 hours to drive up to Bordeaux via the autoroute - not a particularly inspiring drive really. You leave the fields of sunflowers behind, they are replaced by rows of peach trees and they are eventually replaced with vineyards. The toll charges on French motorways is certainly a pain - I think it was about £25 for this trip, but it all mounts up and if you have time to work it out, some of the RN roads are almost as easy to follow and come free. Something we'll definitely do next week.
