Souillac to Revel
After the previous night's adventure, we abandoned ideas of popping into Rocamadour for some sightseeing, as the weather still looked as if it had a lot to offer in the way of clouds and potential downpours, so it was back up to the autoroute, down to Toulouse and then a drive east to Revel.
Revel is a market town sitting in the shadows of the Les Montagnes Noire, which stretch east past Carcassonne and towards Montpellier and the Mediterranean. L's sister Cathou and her children have a house there and they had kindly invited us stay for a week or so.
After lunch, we snook off for a little walk along the stream that runs around the town. We found these cattle making their way down for a quick slurp. The stream seems to run from the Lake at St Ferreol, around Revel and then head south more or less towards Castelnaudry. There it joins and supplies the Canal du Midi with some fresh water, as I think all canals need some extra supplies on their way or the locks would soon run dry.
