Lake Pukaki
Again, unlike yesterday, today was cloudy and stormy. We've had yo-yo weather for the past 4 days. Canterbury took Cousteau for another bike ride and I had a stroll. We decided to leave the tent until the last minute so that it would dry out but then it rained - a lot. We've now got a soggy tent hanging in the garage.
We packed up our camp and started the long drive home. We passed through the storm a few times, getting very wet when we stopped for lunch.
This is Lake Pukaki which usually has a big mountain - Mt Cook right here. Today the clouds had stolen it.
The water is that amazing green colour because of the sediment in the water. It's quite freaky to look at. Canterbury and I did a 31 km kayak 'race' there near there a couple of years ago.
I've backblipped for the past few days if you feel so inclined to look. They start here.
