Anzac Day

Barking and I went for a walk, the weather was beautiful. The walk took us over farmers land so Couateau was not allowed.

I went to the rugby this evening (Canterbury Crusaders Vs Auckland Blues) they had painted poppies on the pitch. Before the game was a demonstration from the military police who abseiled into the stadium from helicopter to present a flag. Next up was a march past from a squad of returning serviceman. The crowd gave them a standing ovation and waited in silence as the last post was played. The returning serviceman provided an honour guard for the players of both teams when they returned to the pitch.

It was all very touching and unexpected.
