primitive life
today was hot again and we were all tired. Outside is over 30°c, inside the house it's 30°c....a lot of us spent the day either asleep or lying around reading. And we needed to find some way of cooling off - going to the outside pool was groaned at because it would be full....going anywhere where there might be people seemed about as attractive as being tortured...more people means more body heat, more noise, more sweat....
And then we had the great idea of going for a walk in the river. So, we all donned swimming gear and river sandals (apart from the dog), clambered down to the river at the bottom of the cliffs and went paddling and splashing and swimming and slipping for an hour in the blissfully cool, shady river.
And then we got out and walked up the hill home and came home as sweaty, boiling messes.....
We saw fish, frogs, stones of many colours and shapes, bits of wood, mushrooms, waterfalls, shallows, ripples, reflections....in fact, enough to say that the primitive life is well worth living :-)
