Fire, Genova

Every summer we get fires here - dry brush and dry pine forests plus high temperatures and onshore winds create perfect conditions. Irresponsible people start the fires - usually accidentally but the result is still terrible.

The pilot of this plane, and his two helicopter colleagues, flew circuits to scoop up sea water and dump it on the fire for over 4 hours. The smoke was visible from miles away and I can smell it now, sitting in the house.
