The Bridge, Tynemouth
Two children crossing an enclosed bridge. Where is the story?
35 years ago I crossed this bridge every day along with hundreds of other Potter-esque boys, from Kings School. This is the mid-70's to the early 80's.
The train would approach and we would all shout "train over the bridge," a school tradition and an odd one as it always went under.
Deals were struck, goods were exchanged and traded, punishments executed and homework negotiated.
Never when I crossed that bridge with sweets bought from Mr Wells station shop did I expect to photograph my two children years later.
