Wings of Tatev

This is a view of an Armenien Hermitage, where Hermits still live. This was taken from 357 metres above in the cable car on the way to Tatev Monastery high up in the caucus mountains.

The monastery is only accessible by cable car , which has only been open since October. Before then to reach the monastery and surrounding villages entailed a treacherous 3 day hike through the mountains and gorges.

Needless to say the views are stunning and there is something rather good about dangling in a cable car high up a mountain side! ;-)
