Minor triumph

I don't think I've cracked the beetroot just yet. I think the issue is finding time to thin them properly, and probably a bit more manure next time. The golden ones are really pathetic, but last year they didn't grow at all.

Harvested beans (french and runner), peas, courgettes and lots more besides. Cut the stalks off the rest of the spuds (some blight but fingers crossed it hasn't taken hold). Had a poke under the soil and they're HUGE.

Botanics afternoon and a pleasant evening at the book festival.
