Hill dog

Ellie shoots the breeze at the top of Traprain Law, East Lothian, today after I looked at the day and decided the only view I wanted was the one from the top of that intriguing hill. It's intriguing for so many reasons - a fort from as far back as 1500BC, roman burial ground, volcanic mass, landmark for fishermen (who know it as Dunpelder) and UFOs too, apparently - but I just love the 360 degree views across to Edinburgh, out over Berwick Law, Bass Rock and the Firth of Forth, and south to the Lammermuirs. And it's such a self contained little hill too. Good for day-after-hen-party-night-before. Note to self, extending lead not good plan when there are sheep and you're on a slightly boggy hillside. Must have looked funny though!
