Lochrin Basin

We went looking for proper shoes to do our 'walking' in this morning and were surprised to discover when we got to Run and Become in Haymarket that they take a summer holiday and were closed. So we scooted across to Bruntsfield to visit Footworks and this took us through Fountainbridge and the Lochrin basin at the end of the Union Canal.

I've tried a bleached preset effect on Photogene for this. I'm not sure whether I like it that much, but it has an interesting timeless quality.

We were going to go to Jungle City in the Botanics this afternoon but we got derailed by more interesting developments in Mr A's exploding family with the arrival of some certificates which made very interesting reading. We're also a bit delicate at the edges, having had a late and rather boozy night last night.

The first proper outing for the shoes will have to wait.
