In the first phase of this year's Scottish holiday I drove to Edinburgh this morning, picked up my fab friend Sarah and then we continued on up to Ullapool.

I love this journey, it's so beautiful. But driving and taking pictures of stunning scenery are, I find, mutually exclusive activities. So I waited until I arrived in Ullapool and by that time the light was diminishing into a damp evening and the images I took (iPhone only today) by the harbour were a little bit rubbish. So here you have the best kind of hospitality tray in the the b&b world...
