The white flowers in the meadow are Yampa root (Perideridia gairdneri) it grows in Colorado only in the northwestern part of the state where it was an important food source for the local Utes. It left its name on many things including the largest river in the region (The might Yampa, the only "undamed" major river in Colroado) and even the loal band of Utes who so loved this part of the state that they fough hard to stay and even placed a curse on the land in the end. More about that later.
