The end of the American dream
Ok decided to re-read Fear and Loathing this week after reading Hells Angels for the first time a few weeks back.
Hunter is just a fantatstic writer regardless of what you feel about him or his topic of discussion you cannot fault his ability.
Hunter said he set off searching for the American dream. I think he went off to clarify to himself that the American dream was already dead.
"All those pathetically eager acid freaks who thought they could buy peace and understanding for 3 bucks a hit. Their loss and failure is ours too."
There are lots of great lines about dispair and end of an era kind of stuff but I had never picked up on this one before.
And finally slightly off topic.
Why is it some people don't seem to be able to grasp the concept of queing?
