Prickly cucumber

A number of cucumbers have suddenly got a spurt on this last few weeks. I've never seen such prickly ones before, and am tied between picking them, peeling them and eating them, or making pickled cucumber.

Whatever, I'm glad to see them, having grown them from seed!
