Monarch Caterpillar!
After reading my friends blipfoto journal the other day, I decided to go on a hunt in the back fields for some caterpillar eggs.
We have lots of milkweed in the back, so we headed back there to see if we could find any. We didn't spot any eggs, although we found this beautiful monarch caterpillar on one of the leaves.
We have a butterfly pavillion from last year, so we took some of the leaves and a tree branch and brought him inside. Jack keeps talking to him, even blowing it a kiss when we leave the house.
I can't wait to see it transform to a chrysalis then a few weeks later emerge as a beautiful Monarch butterfly.
A great 'end of summer' project for Jack and it will give me a few blips too!
