Never again

The small town of Dachau and the memorial site of the notorious concentration camp are located only about 20km outside of Munich, Germany, so we decided to visit it while in Munich.

It's a strange feeling walking around there on a bright and sunny day when birds are singing while all the documentaries you see are fairly dark and muddy looking black and white films. I almost had the feeling I'm on a movie set rather than a place where thousands of people were actually tortured and murdered less than a hundred years ago.

It's also hard to imagine that it all happened on bright and sunny days, too, when birds were singing.
