Steuben County Fair

Yikes! I almost missed this Blip today, but I still have a *few* minutes!

We actually just got home...the kids went to a concert this evening. As we drove around Bath, New York, I discovered the Steuben County Fair was in full swing.

Husband and the Scotties stayed behind while I attended the fair. It is said it is the oldest county fair in America, having begun in 1819.

Not much of one for fairs, really, I just wandered around the animal barns and looked at some of the things young 4H kids had made. Somehow, I got the distinct impression that fairs are not what they used to be. Perhaps it is just me....

Anyway, the little goat above was so friendly. Not at all like my friend's goat she kept in the horse barn years ago. That naughty little Pygmy used to head butt me just when I least suspected it! This little one came right over and asked me to take his photo!

Today is our little Murphy the Scottie's fifth birthday. We got home after 11:30, had some cake and ice cream, and now, time for bed after a pretty busy day!
