Oh Poor Hero!

Hero fell in the water today!!!

He usually likes water, but he never goes out further than his feet can still reach ground. He never swims. But today the dogs and I went out on a small jetty and curious as he is, he leaned over too much and fell in head first!!!

He was not happy!!!!! In the end I had to help him back up as he nearly panicked! Luckily Hero is a tough little man that take things as they come and as soon as he was back on dry land, he shook the water off him and continued as if nothing ever happened.

All the other dogs do swim and Beat was, as you can see, very surprised by Hero's strong reaction :-)

I also had to take little sheltie Biscuit to the vet today. I was brushing him yesterday and realised that his skin looked very red and irritated under all his fur. The vet gave him penicillin for 42 days (!!!!!!). He said it is because the summer has been warm and wet. Biscuit has such a thick coat and when he gets wet, it takes ages to dry. Moist and warm fur close to the skin is not good in the long run. Luckily Biscuit does not seem bothered about it and he should be fine again soon.
