Keep The Pavement Dry

We tookthe Cygnet on his first ride today.
He seemed completely underwhelmed.

When we got in to town we passed the City Art Centre where there was some intinteresting artwork in the window ............. but we were heading somewhere more interesting.

We walked up the High Street (as it started to rain) aboyt 10.30am.
The place was full of tourists and a distinct lack of street performers.
There were a fair few leaflet distributers - not one in costume.
The nearest to costume was one group on a stage wearing t-shirts with the shows name on it .... but most of them were wearing sweat tops and coats.
Even the stall holders seemed to only just be setting up.

I was really disapointed to say the least.
The camera club is going in on Saturday to 'shoot the Fringe' - I sincerely hope there is a better show on then.

We arrived at our destination - the giant inflatable you walk around inside which is in George Square.
We were wet (well, SWMBO and I were.....you know who was fine under his buggys' waterproof cover) and the light was terrible so I wasn't very hopeful for any pictures inside.

However ........... it was wonderful (some pictures HERE)
And the Cygnet absolutely loved it.

When we came out - it was still pouring with rain.
So we sat under a shelter and had 2 hot chocolates and a brownie.
It was onlt later SWMBO told me that little lot came to £7
That is just plain theft.
If I had known beforehand there is no way we would have bought them.
No wonder tourists complain about the costs in this country.

We headed into the museum to see what they have done during the revamp.
It was heaving.................
Although I did bump into Steart Bremner. I even recognised him without his trademark hat (which he has crushed in his bag).
We only stayed long enough to change the Cygnets undergarments (Baby Changing facilities are woefully inadequit............parents take note).

Back out into the rain to get the train home................
Who ordered the rain?
I know I didn't.

The title of the blip.................it comes from adisplay in the museum main hall which I thought rather apt.
