Beginnings and ends

The barmy army started back to school today. The Rooster was not happy he was having to wear shorts...that's what's wrong with his wee face in this pic. Took all my powers of blackmail persuasion to coax him out for the traditional first day snap:-)

They were all quite happy to be going back though and catching up with their friends.

Once we had them back at school Mr R and I had an appointment at the vets with the old cat. She hasn't been great for a wee while and I think we had both been putting this off. With me at home today and the kids back at school we knew we had to see what was what. And it wasn't good...we said goodbye to the old girl this morning.

In some ways saying bye to Scout today has been harder than saying bye to Lubie, her mum. I think perhaps because when Lubie passed Scout was still here. Now they are both gone and we are all very sad. We take some comfort knowing that mother and daughter are reunited again.

Rest in Peace wee Scout. We will miss you.
