The Importance of Being Earnest - Part 2
I felt it only fair and right that Popz was next in my 'Earnest' series. She follows Steven, her boyfriend who deserves a medal having spent the best part of a year with her abroad, every day. That must have been tough. For she is tough. Not one for suffering fools is our Popz.
She is forthright, impatient and knows exactly what she wants and finds it difficult to tolerate tardiness or non-delivery, in whatever form that takes. That includes herself.
That outer covering can only be cut by a diamond, but what it hides inside is a soft gooey centre that knows how to have fun and make others feel good. For once you have made your way in, there's a pliable but solid welcome wrapped up with commons sense and loyalty and a good deal of affection. Her self-proclaimed loves are Christmas, our Dilly, shoes, partying, her bed, her home and her brothers.
What stands out most for me is her love for her brothers. Being the only girl, men have never mystified her. She grew up with males all around. Even though all her brothers are now bigger than her, she still displays a love and affection for them most every day, not always consciously. As parents, we notice small things. To me, they're big.
To Popz, it's natural.
