The missing c
1. This morning I cross my street just as I have for almost a year, and notice that the café opposite that I always thought was called Cafeart is actually called Cafecart . Caféart made no sense, I never understood it, and to be honest it always bothered me; they didn?t even bother putting up pictures. Cafécart makes total sense, the road is Cathcart road after all. But until this morning I swear I never saw that c right in the middle.
2. Walking across Buchanan Street from station to station, I share a couple of steps with a French family on holiday. Remaining cheerful despite the wintery conditions, they try to find their bearings and locate the street on their map. They search for Booshanan street. Softening the c makes a word I say everyday sound suddenly wonderful.
3. To Edinburgh, again. This time I share my journey with Niall. Today we talk carbon footprints.
4. Yesterday my Edinburgh trip was for the board meeting and my presentation, today was Fringe Central and seminars about sustainability. Ironically, yesterday my coup de theatre was dramatically producing this massive document proving just how successful the project was. There's a whole tangled pile of irony to wade through there.
5. No coup de theatre outside the co-op. And for that I suppose we should be thankful.
