Shifting views

Water is just water until you stop and see that it is a platform, a carrier of many different images. Constantly changing. A small piece of the world captured fleetingly on its surface for us to see in a new way. I love that I can capture it in photographs to recall, share and muse on.

This was taken as I sat on the dock at noon today with my daughter (while she warmed up in the sun after swimming in the frigid water). As we talked I took dozens of photos of the same patch of water. All of them bring to mind very different images.

I love the motion, colour and dreamy quality of this one. Reminds me of sails and far off adventures.
