The Hippest Cat in Town

Meet Erin and her cat, Wilbur.

Wilbur was rushed into the surgery last Saturday morning by Erin's mum after he was hit by a car near their home. Luckily, his injuries were not life threatening and he came away with a grazed chin and a dislocated hip. Pretty amazing.

On Tuesday, I did some surgery on Wilbur's hip. The procedure is called an excision arthroplasty and is designed to provide the cat with a 'false' hip joint that will support him and enable him to use his leg normally. After a month or two, he should be pretty much back to normal.

Wilbur went home on Wednesday and Erin and her mum brought him in for his check-up today. He's a very special cat and even more precious since the family list their other cat only a week before Wilbur's accident. He's doing very, very well and is already keen to use his leg as much as possible.
