Yum, yum

Yes, today is my Birthday and in the world of running I am now officially a veteran, which is pretty depressing, especially as there is still so much I want to do and achieve, and now my best years are considered to be behind me :(

Anyway, enough of the negativity as I've had a really lovely day. The 15th is a public holiday in Belgium so we didn't have to go to work - hurray! My husband and my daughter made me the cake that you see above which really meant a lot to me as my husband has never baked anything before. Okay, so I had to get all of the equipment out and give a little guidance but they did everything else and I loved the end result, and it was very tasty!

We had a trip to Planckendael zoo with some very dear friends and their children, who had also made me a chocolate cake which was also very tasty. What a lucky girl! Perhaps I should have blipped an animal at the zoo which would have made perfect sense. However on looking back through my photos I realised that I didn't actually take any pictures of animals as the children were much more interested in each other, the fantastic playgrounds and of course the chocolate cake, which were all photographed in abundance.

Perhaps if I didn't eat so much cake I would be a better runner. Or perhaps because I love to run I need the cake. Haven't made my mind up on that one yet.

Oh and my husband also upgraded me to a full blip membership.

Not a bad birthday at all.
