Hand Planes
Cleaning up the workshop continues.
Got my collection of hand planes together for a portrait. Once you know how to sharpen and set the blade, hand planes are a very efficient and useful tool. Also very quiet and they produce no dust, only shavings.
Some of these need restoration and some are in use daily. The oldest is from the late 1800's. The smallest (up front ) is a block plane and I found it in a pile of iron scrap as a block of rust!
All of the planes, except one, have fallen into my hands at no cost.
Another view of the planes.
