That Was The Week That Was

5.30 p.m. New Cross Road, New Cross / Deptford Border, South East London.

Well, it's over and I wonder when we finally will find that it has sunk in to what happened to this country this week. This evening as I walked through Deptford and New Cross I came across this billboard and the models expression pretty much summed up the feelings of many locally and I am sure nationally. Just a few days earlier this was the sight of lootings, fires and destruction, which was brilliantly observed from the Brockley Central forum.

Thankfully, the worst part of it for me was the minor abuse I received via Twitter where among the many expletives I received, worse was that I was apparently to blame for the riots due to my socialist views and worse still I was called a 'Middle Class Leftie' I am happy to point that I was brought up by a single Mum in a council house! Also, Brockley where I happily call home, saw very little damage. Sadly, many area's close by didn't and it is those area's that our support now goes too.
