An unusual alarm call

Despite the bad back I managed to sleep fairly well last night. Strange how pain can make you so tired.

Another warm night so the bedroom windows were left open.

I woke up early this morning to an odd sound - like a box being dragged acroos a stone floor in short bursts.

That's funny I thought, after the third burst of sound, it sounds like a hot air balloon burner

Got up and looked out of the window and lo and behold a hot air balloon appeared from behind the trees next to my parents' house.

It was very close but rapidly rising.Managed to get to the camera without jarring the back too much.

The sky was pretty spectacular too. Unfortunately it didn't last and we've had another fairly cloudy day here in East Yorkshire.
