St Columb's Cathedral

Was up in Derry today for the Annual Apprentice Boys of Derry Relief of Derry Celebrations.
My dad is in the ABOD so we needed to be up there pretty early to park the car before the roads were closed!
Arrived about 10ish so we took a dander into the City as his friend needed to go up to the Cathedral to make a donation from their ABOD Club. Took this from the entrance to the Fountain Estate outside the walls.
The Parent Clubs of the ABOD parade the walls in the morning then go to the Cathedral to for a service, before which they raise the Crimson Flag to mark the end of the Seige of Derry.
After we went to the Cathedral we wandered through the city past the Diamond where half of the PSNI had been bussed in. (The Diamond was where the nationalists were having their little protest about the strip searches going on at Meghaberry). We then decided we head in the general direction of the new Peace Bridge for which we had to walk on the Walls.
Walked over the peace bridge where we met my dad's cousin then went to All Saint's church to get lunch with the rest of the club.
We then walked down Spencer Road in time to see the parade coming back from parading round the city.
Once my Dad's Club passed we wandered up to where the car was parked and got out the customary deck chairs to watch the rest of the parade.
The parade was mostly peaceful. I watched a PSNI Riot Police officer re-lace her shoes. That's how peaceful it was!
When my dad got to us again he fell out and we stood and watched the rest of the parade. Met my cousin who I haven't see since my auntie's funeral two years ago so that was cute!
After the parade was over we met up with the guy from my dad's Club who came up in the car with us and went and watched the Parent Clubs parade back to the Memorial Hall.
Shortly after we left and I'm not long home. Realised I hadn't had anything to eat and so I have just INHALED a Chinese :)
Cosied up watching Friends :)
