Much needed rest
Today The Boy whisked me away on a mini break to Bridge of Allan. It was so nice to be away from the house, from studying, from having to cook and clean and from all those other things I have to think about on a day to day basis. We set off mid-morning, checked in to our hotel and then went down the road for some lunch at a cafe. After that we decided to take a walk along to the William Wallace Monument. It was quite a trek to get to but I learnt some Scottish history, admired the views from the top and then had a nice walk through the forest. It threatened to rain on the way back but it held off until we were just outside the hotel.
Our hotel package included a three course dinner and they even had a dessert on the menu that I could eat. I found out that despite my not liking the thought of haggis, if you don't remind me what's in it whilst I'm eating it, it's actually rather tasty!
