Hydropower

A quick blip before we head south to visit Dad in hospital. We shall be staying with my sister tonight.

This is the River Kent where it is funnelled through a limestone gorge south of Sedgwick. I was hoping for a leaping salmon or a dipper perched on the rocks, but nothing showed.

The Kent is a flashy river with a short run from source in the southern Lake District to its mouth in the Kent Estuary. The volume of water funnelled through the gorges is frightening, and it powers through noisily. This is a popular spot for kayakers, but perhaps not today.

After 3 plus days of rain, at last it has brightened a little today.
