Wayne - Surrogate Dad

James has been spending a lot of time with his second family. James and Lee have been largely inseparable and of an evening, James has been round at Lee's place, or out with Lee's family.
Wayne is part of that extended family and James really loves spending time with him, along with the rest of "Lee's lot" as he refers to them.
So, to Wayne, J (the other surrogate dad), Kelly and Kelly (surrogate mums) - thank you. You make him laugh, you make him feel part of your big, happy family and that is absolutely priceless.
Last night, James even got up and did a song at a Karaoke!
Interestingly, the years that Lee and James have been pals over here, they have normally had Elliot with them - El is getting older now and this year isn't here. James has now, along with Lee, become the one who is running around and looking out for a younger lad, also part of this big holiday family. James apparently did a really good job of looking out for Olly yesterday and his response to me when I praised him was to say "Well, Elliot did that for me for 5 years, so it's my turn to do it for someone else"

My boy - not expecting something for nothing. Parenting, love, praise, boundaries.

Yep - that's what helps a child to grow into a good person.

I am resisting the urge for a rant, having just seen the news on Sky where a group of looters, all masked and hooded, tried to justify their reasons for their behaviour this week. Why give them air time? Glorify their behaviour by providing a platform for their voices to be heard. I don't think this is right - name, shame, punish. End of.
