Mooching along the Mosel

Today we continued travelling west, and hit the autobahns. On a downhill unrestricted bit , I got fed up with all the BMWs, Audis and Mercedes whizzing up behind us like Messerschmitts, so decided to see what Annie the Adria could do. I waited until the wind was behind us, then gave it some serious right foot.

We accelerated sedately, then gradually things started rocking, the towels started to sway on their hooks, crockery started to clang, the dust slowly migrated towards the back and Dozy girl reported a curious wardrobe mal function. Apparently her trousers were falling down, and her knickers were falling up??? I gave up trying to figure that one out and put my foot to the floor. I am pleased to announce that Annie the Adria maxed out at 122!
I do not wish to upset her by pointing out that was km per hour, not mph!

I know I can rely on your discretion.

Trier is on the banks of the Mosel, this is a major area of wine production. At their best the wines are crisp, sharp and refreshing, unfortunately all too often they taste like the river looks.

The river is a major highway for industry. Large boats plow up and down. They do not bother to decorate these boats with bright, ornate colours, or have painted buckets and jugs like the canal boats on the Sharpness to Gloucester canal, but they do usually have an expensive looking Mercedes parked on the back!

The stellplatz here is a very reasonable 7 euros, you can have a shower for 1 euro for 3 minutes. I declined to spend 10 euros on a shower for Dozy ? she can use the one in Annie like the rest of us.

Tomorrow, off to Luxembourg for the weekend.

If you are really pushed for something to do, then you can check the back blips of Mart?s Magical Mystery Bore so far.
