Lyveden New Bield, Northamptonshire
Created by Sir Thomas Tresham beween 1595 and his death in 1605 it was planned as a garden lodge set in a leisure garden reached by journeying through orchards, terraces and moats from his manor house. It was never completed.
His son was implicated in the Gunpowder Plot.
Apart from the cottage on the left it is quite isolated with nothing for miles around but countryside.
