FADED GLORY

Well, more than faded, and I'm not sure how glorious this cinema ever
was.

No it's not the aftermath of this week's riots, but just one of
several interesting buildings in and around Hartlepool, mostly in the
hands of private developers, which for various reasons are being
allowed to fall to pieces. They've all fallen prey to metal thieves
and arsonists from time to time, and councillors fulminate, and the
local paper editorialises, but nothing happens. I'm hoping you'll be
able to see the art-deco relief on either side of what once was the
illuminated sign.
