Granda was a heavy smoker and 'Senior Service' was his chosen brand. He was lighting a cigarette when 'Wor Jackie' (Jackie Milburn, the Legendary No. 9 Centre Forward for Newcastle) scored in the first minute of the game. Granda dropped the match in surprise and when celebrating the goal. The still burning match 'caught' his rosette and caused a scorch mark. That was his story anyway ...

Granda took me to my first game in the early 70's and is responsible for a lifetime of hopeless love and passion for the football club ...
