Canoe trip!

I love 5am starts in a wet freezing tents, so this morning i was overjoyed when we were able to get up at 4.30!

After a neccesary nap on the bus, necessary for both me and the fellow passengers as I can be crabby and a snappy tom when I am tired, we stopped at a gas station presenting me with my first opportunity of seeing my new hair! My friends will be aware I have had some shocking hair cuts in my time this is easily top 3 worse!! (family please book me a hair cut for the day I land, seriously!)

With that checked and a search for a hat beginning, we headed to wells gray, a Canadian national park and here we would be canoeing for a couple of hours to an island where we would be camping for the night, an island in bear country seriously what are they doing to me!

Now my partner in the canoe was little James, u may remember James from his heroic raft save yesterday, now James weighs 9stone, before I came to America the land of the burger I weighed 17stone! Now u may be able to tell this is not the most logical pairing but we loaded the food and drinks at James end to balance it out, thus making it a perfect pairing or so we thought! Me and James it turns out are the two worse rowers ever seen in Canada, arguably the world! At no point did we go straight, at one point we had 3 inches of water in the canoe and at every point we were the laughing stock of the group!

We some how managed to make it to bear island, where we set up and had the best chilli I have ever had! Vicki our leader made a cracking chilli for us to enjoy huddled round a campfire, the night was really pleasant, good company and a nice temperature relaxed me into my best sleep of the trek!

I am now about to set off with James back to land, today I will be at the front and James will be steering, we decided I was the main reason for the awful canoeing, let's hope today we go straight!

Av fun xx
