I heart Rotterdam
Sometimes I get homesick to something I can't describe. It might be the rural area I grew up in, it might be the proximity of my parents, it might be the town I went to college in and where a lot of my friends still live.
All I know is that this city is part of my life now. I realized this once again while having some beers with my colleague and ex-colleague and especially on my way home. My bike's lights weren't working and two strangers warned that the police was checking. I didn't feel like getting a fine, so I got off of my bike and walked home. There is so much going on after the sun goes down, my old home town would be asleep by now!
A few weeks ago I noticed these heart stickers in the neighborhood and I found this one particularly funny: the sticker above says that pasting is prohibited. In a fit of pure melancholy it makes me think this is what the world needs now...
Edit: Wolf Journal just posted a (bit ambivalent) homage to Rotterdam as well :-)
