High Speed Pursuit

(This is the second time I'm writing this....argh)

Today started out completely gray and overcast. I was already in a bad mood because we changed our travel plans so that we'd leave a day early (due to tropical storm Emily), so I was not amused to see how dark it was outside.

Not having anything better to do, I wandered off to the edge of the dock and started taking pictures. That's when I heard the helicopter....

Helicopters aren't as common as you'd think in the Bahamas so when I heard one coming I immediately thought there was some sort of medical emergency. The sound kept getting closer and closer until finally the low-flying helicopter appeared....closely following a speedboat moving at full speed. I hope everyone's okay, I thought to myself, as they passed by and continued until they were out of sight.

The next thing I know, they've turned around and are heading back toward my dock. What on earth is going on here?! Did someone steal a boat and the police are after them??

Once they were directly in front of the dock, the boat turned and headed out through the Tiloo Cut (a pass between two islands that leads out to the open waters of the Atlantic).

By this point, my dad came out to investigate and soon enough they were coming back through the pass. Dad explained that this was a new boat and that the helicopter was taking action shots of it for a sales brochure. Sure enough, once they were back into the middle of the channel, the boat slowed down and the helicopter turned around and left. I thought: Okay.... you certainly don't see something like THAT every day.
