David Hume's toe
This is the statue of David Hume in the Royal Mile. The big toe of
his right foot is all rubbed smooth. This is due to people (mainly
students on the way to exams) rubbing the toe for luck!
This year the Edinburgh Skeptics are doing an experiment on
whether it actually works or not. People will toss a coin having
either rubbed or not rubbed the toe and see if they have any
better luck in getting the call right.
Good luck to them. ;-)
