Lovely plumage!
Proud as a Peacockthey say. Well wouldn't you be if you had feathers like this?
Today me, my parents, my dad's 2 brothers and their wives went to Nunnington Hall in North Yorkshire. We have visited before, mainly because they stage some really good exhibitions. This year Jane Pinkney is exhibiting some of her illustrations. She has been artist in residence at Nunnington for the last few months.
Her illustrations are incredibly detailed drawings and watercolours. I got her to sign a copy of the most recently published book illustrated by her, The Mice of Nibbling Village, for my class at school.
It was definitely a day to be inside. The weather was dismal. It rained most of the time we were in the house but had stopped as we left which gave me the chance to take some photographs.
I nearly blipped this poppy head and these may feature on a Christmas card as the 3 Kings
These flowers took my eye. I think they are Hibiscus. Just look at the amazingly shaped thingthing the flower comes out of. My friend monkey tells me they are actually Thorn Apple.
It is of course the time of year for Japanese Anemones.
Then the Peacock put in an appearance. Just beautiful birds.
